Fanfiction
I've decided, out of total boredom, to write a fanfic, more commonly known as FanFiction, a piece of writing where the setting is taken from another work of fiction. I've to warn you that it sucks though...
Note: This is just the first chapter, or prologue, depends on how you look at it.
Prologue
Colonel Rain stepped out onto the forest behind HQ07, footsteps making no sound as the Bow Master stopped walking, abruptly. It was midnight, and it was deathly silent. He could come anytime.
He came.
He came, almost without a sound, too. Of course, ‘almost’ never won any prizes, as Rain proved, by suddenly turning back…
Kane suddenly appeared in front of the Colonel, holding a half-moon dagger to his neck. Its blade shone a golden colour, with white on the razor-sharp edges.
Rain’s eyes went wide with surprise.
The captain has the Shadowlight in his possession…
Aloud, Rain said, “What brings you here, captain?”
Kane frowned, something he had been doing lately, since the truth behind his father’s death had come out. “Don’t you have something to confess?”
“Well, yes.” Came the Colonel’s reply. “I’d like to confess. I’d like to confess that you’ve been tricked.”
Suddenly, Shadowsight bandits, covered by Frozenarrow snipers left their cover behind the trees, the bandits with their standardized Cross daggers and the snipers cocking their individually modified crossbows, all aimed at the ex-captain of a Kane.
The Colonel of Eagleeye grinned. “Any last words, traitor?”
Kane smiled back a half-smile. “None needed yet, anyway.” He then snapped his finger before whispering, “Meso Explosion.”
The trees behind him exploded, mesos having been thrown onto the trees before the cunning ex-captain of Shadowsight had arrived. Not a single BeraCross member in the vicinity survived.
Well, except two bandits, slightly burnt, and a lone sniper, with his crossbow still cocked.
“Blizzard.”
A fury of arrows, all frozen to the tip, flew towards Kane, who dodged three arrows, and deflected the last one, before screaming, “Lucky Seven!”
Time stood still for Rain.
Did he just use a claw rogue technique…?
“Avenger!” three giant Kumbis erupted from Kane, a standard-issue GoldenMeba covering his left hand. One beheaded the sniper while the other two lashed at a bandit, leaving the lone bandit, his Cross dagger shaking in his hands.
Omigosh, a Hermit technique…
“S…s…Savage Blow!” reluctantly, the bandit dashed towards Kane and struck with his trusty dagger, ancient symbols forming in front of him as he stabbed, six times in the time it took one to stab once.
Not a single hit Kane.
He evaded all the blows, and with a “Lucky Seven!” shot the chin of the bandit with his claw, Shadowlight still at the Colonel’s throat.
“I’d have to say you trained your little imbeciles well.” Kane smirked.
“Why did you turn against us, son?” Rain said, almost a pleading tone in his voice.
“You took my father away from me. You destroyed my family. And, what, you expect me to serve you?!” The Chief Bandit cried out.
“Listen, child. Darren was a criminal. Outlaw. Murderer. He took innocent lives, just as you did just now.” Rain said, his voice even, looking Kane straight in the eyes. Suddenly, he changed the topic, with utmost ease, even with a dagger at his throat. “Kane, do you remember when you were just a little younger than this? When you were just a mere 14. You had great potential as a Bandit. I had you trained by the best of Rouges, and even by the Dark Lord himself. I even adopted you as my son.”
“Ah, yes, those times. But they’re over now.” Kane allowed himself a smile. “You have to pay for what you did so many years ago.”
The Shadowlight moved back, to strike at its next victim’s throat…
…Revenge is a funny thing. Violence begets violence, and yet people take another’s eye for their own, and the world goes blind.
Now back to Kane. What happened to the poor soul, that he turns upon his former mentor? The story that comes next is about the life of young Kane, of his struggles, of his being accepted into someplace he could call a family, and yet would betray in time to come, the BeraCross.
The prologue. The prologue of the life of one who would affect the history of Bera, just as the sun gives life, he would bring death.
Beware; the greatest of avengers is coming.
And this is his prologue.
End of Prologue
Don't say I didn't warn you that it sucks. The best a student can do.~
Anyway a spoiler for those who managed to read 'till the end: Colonel Rain survived the encounter. ^^. And I'm using this same scene for the last chapter...
Yours truely,
DNA
P.S. Please comment on this 'masterpiece', even if to say "you sux at writing stop this crap.". I haven't released this on FanFiction.net yet, I'll waiting for reviews...
P.S.2. And for those who guessed, the setting was taken from Maplestory. Lame ya?
